I make cameras suitable for wet plate photography as well as daguerreotype photography.
They are made in a range of sizes as well styles.
My camera designs are taken from originals. I have studied and photographed many cameras from the underground vaults at the George Eastman House Museum of Photography.
The wood of choice for me is cherry.
Cameras may take 2-3 months for completion depending upon where I am at with other cameras.

. . . Just wanted to let you know that I just used my new 5x7 wet plate stereo camera and holder that Ty made for me. It is a beautiful piece to look at, but more importantly it works smoothly, and is built FORD tough. The craftsmanship and attention to every detail is not lost on someone who uses the equipment.
There's an old quote from a home remodeler in Houston who said, "Let the work I've done speak for me." Well, let me tell you Ty's work has spoken volumes and the camera brags on itself.
I've had a great time working with Ty on this project and hope he'll be making other items for me in the future. He's also timely and honest as they come.
Thanks Ty!, Robb Kendrick . . . (Nat. Geo. photographer & author/tintypist for "Revealing Character" & "Still")
